The city of Victoria, B.C. recently was faced with the issue of replacement or refurbishing of a high-profile drawbridge landmark that has been part of the Victoria skyline for decades. A concerned group required a website to rally community members together to inform them of the issue and garner their involvement, primarily through an online petition which the owners could then print out and present to the local CRD. Search engine optimization was key, as well as accessible web design for a wide demographic audience. The website remained active until the city's decision on the Blue Bridge's fate was decided.
